PTSD treatment when you're still on guard

You will not be asked to retell what happened. FDA-cleared Deep TMS and psychiatrist-led medication in Columbus, Ohio, board-certified care since 2017.

Which one sounds like you

Trauma Doesn't Stay In The Past

PTSD is not only flashbacks. For a lot of people, it is being permanently on guard or feeling nothing at all. Find the pattern that sounds like you.

Reliving it
Memories that arrive uninvited, nightmares, or moments where it feels like it is happening again rather than being remembered.
Always on guard
Sitting where you can see the door, jumping at noise, scanning every room. Exhausting, and it does not switch off just because you are safe now.
Avoiding the reminders
Routes you will not drive, conversations you steer away from, a life that has quietly got smaller to keep the reminders out.
PTSD and depression at the same time
Very common, and it changes what treatment is likely to help. Where depression has set in alongside PTSD, that is the part Deep TMS is cleared to treat.
Numbness and losing interest
Feeling cut off from people you love, or flat about things that used to matter. Often mistaken for not caring, when it is the opposite.
Sleep that never recovered
Broken sleep, dreading bed, or years of running on four hours since it happened, with mood dropping as a result.
Military service, police, fire and EMS
Repeated exposure rather than one event, often carried for years because getting on with it was the job.
A single event
A crash, an assault, a medical emergency or a sudden loss that split your life into before and after.
Trauma that went on for years
Childhood or a long-running situation, where there is no single memory to point at and it shows up as how you have always been.

Treatments

How We Treat it

Medication is often the starting point. Where depression has come with the PTSD, Deep TMS treats that depression, and it does not require you to talk through what happened.

Medication management
Psychiatrist-led

Antidepressant treatment chosen and reviewed properly, not simply refilled. If you are breastfeeding, that is part of the conversation from the first visit, not an afterthought.

Format First visit in person, follow-ups by telehealth
Self-pay $200 initial, $100 follow-up
Insurance Credentialing in progress
Standard Deep TMS
FDA-cleared for depression

Magnetic pulses stimulate the brain region that regulates mood. It is not a drug and nothing enters your bloodstream, which is why it is worth asking about if you are weighing medication while breastfeeding.

Course Five days a week, about six weeks
Session About 20 minutes, drive yourself home
Insurance Often covered, we check for you

Who We Can help, And Who We Can't

What you have already tried matters as much as your diagnosis. If we are not the right place, we will tell you.

Worth a consultation
  • You have PTSD and low mood together, and medication alone has not been enough
  • You are on an SSRI or SNRI and still on edge, still not sleeping
  • Two or more medications have not given you enough relief
  • You are already in trauma therapy and want the medication side handled properly alongside it
  • You have carried this for years and it has never been properly assessed
Not the right place
  • You are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself. Call or text 988. Veterans can press 1
  • You are under 15
  • You need inpatient or emergency care

Our promise

Two Things We Commit to

1
We won't pretend we're the whole answer

For PTSD, trauma-focused therapy usually does the heavy lifting. We handle the medication and Deep TMS side and work alongside your therapist. If therapy is the bigger priority right now, we will say so.

2
If it isn't working, we'll say so

We track your mood with the PHQ-9 at the start, partway through and at the end. No pushing you through a course that isn't helping.

Frequently asked

What patients ask before reaching out.

  • Do I need a referral?

No, not for any of our treatments. Contact us directly. If you already have a therapist or psychiatrist, we coordinate with them with your permission.

  • Will I have to talk about what happened?

Not in detail, and not to get started. We need enough to understand your symptoms and treat them safely. Working through the events themselves is what trauma therapy is for, at your pace, with a therapist.

  • Is Deep TMS FDA-cleared for PTSD?

No. Deep TMS is FDA-cleared for major depressive disorder. Depression very often comes with PTSD, and that is the part it is cleared to treat. We will tell you honestly whether it is a fit for your situation rather than stretching the claim.

  • Do I have to stop my medication?

No. Deep TMS is done alongside your medication. Any change to what you take is a decision you make with your prescriber, never a condition of starting.

  • Is TMS the same as ECT or shock therapy?

No. You stay fully awake, there is no anesthetic, nothing enters your bloodstream, and you drive yourself home afterwards.

  • Can I keep seeing my own therapist?

Yes, and for PTSD we would encourage it. If you are seeing a therapist or counselor, we coordinate with them with your permission. Medication and TMS work alongside talk therapy, not instead of it.

  • Will insurance cover it?

We check your specific plan before you commit to anything, so there are no surprises.
